Ho-Ho-Holidays 2018

December 12, 2018

Dear Neighbours,

That sound you may be hearing or sleigh bells ringing can only mean one thing... 'tis that wonderful time of the year!

This year, we not only have been hearing bells, but also whispers that Santa will be stopping by Emerald City One for our annual Holiday Festivities! We hope that you'll also join us for a night of fun with our fellow neighbours.

Below are the details:

The Holiday Festivities will be held on Thursday, December 20th, 2018, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the Main Lobby of Emerald City One, and is exclusive to Registered Residents only.

Hot chocolate will be served for the duration of the event (complimentary). From the hours of 6:30pm - 7:30pm, children will have the opportunity to write letters to Santa, and then give them to Santa when he visits from 7:30pm - 8:30pm. Pets are welcome to this event, and to come take pictures with Santa (he may even share some of Rudolph's treats with them!).

During Santa's visit, we ask that those who wish to meet him, give him their letters, and/or take photos with him (must bring and use own camera) line up to do so. For those who leave their letters with Santa, they can expect to pick up a reply from the Security Desk on Christmas Eve (December 24, 2018).

As always, in order to help us properly plan for the event, we ask that you confirm your attendance (and of any other Residents - including children - that will be attending), via email at SocialCommittee@EmeraldCityOne.com. We thank you in advance!

We hope to see everyone there!

All the best,

Andreea Birloncea,

Chair of the Emerald City Social Committee

& President of the Board of Directors - TSCC 2368.

Fall Book Club Teaser (+PRIZE!)

September 30, 2018

Dear Book Worms,

The Emerald City Social Committee has chosen a new novel for the virtual Seasonal Book Club, and we hope that you'll join in guessing what it is! As previously stated, the Book Club will feature a new book every season, and we will always feature both an adult and a child-friendly option.

Here's a recap of the plan:

1) Our Social Committee Book Worms will choose a book every season, and blog about it here.

2) Once the review is live on the blog, the books will be available (in limited quantities) at the Security Desk to be borrowed for two weeks at a time.

3) We encourage those borrowing the books to chime in on the blog post with their opinion(s) of the book. Give us your feedback, and you may even win a prize for participation!

The Book Worms who will be reviewing regularly are:

Andreea Birloncea, who is the Social Committee Director and President of the Board of Directors. For over a decade now, she has helped mentor and tutor students in communication skills from grades 3 all the way through university, so she has been reading a lot in order to help out with assignments! She is partnering up with her favourite debate buddy...

Ozzy Bonilla, who is an employee of TSCC 2368 with many hidden talents and an incredible passion for reading. For Christmas, his top request was an e-reader, and we assume he was real good as Santa gave him one that he has put to good use- and will continue to do so now that he has kindly volunteered to help the ECSC with the monthly Book Club!

We will, of course, also have some guest posts to keep things interesting and fun - so please let us know if you want to be featured!

We've already chosen the two books for the Fall Season, and while we won't spoil what they are quite yet, we would like to heighten the anticipation with a few hints and a contest!

Adult's book hints:

1) This book has been transformed into a very successful TV series.

2) The author is a famous female writer.

3) Many of the author's books feature dystopian societies.

Child's book hints:

1) The main character is very little

2) It is another classic children's book, written by the same author as our Summer 2018 children's book club choice.

3) There is a movie made of the book from the late 1990's.

If you'd like to venture a guess and be entered to win a prize, please email the Social Committee at SocialCommittee@EmeraldCityOne.com

Contest closes on October 24th at midnight, winner will be notified the following week.

Looking forward to expanding our imaginations together!

Meet & Greet Your Management Staff: City Sites, the Board of Directors, & Emerald City One Staff

September 27, 2018

Dear Neighbours,

I invite Owners to join the Board of Directors in introducing City Sites Property Management to our community.

Switching Property Management companies is a big step, and our Board would like Owners to be comfortable with City Sites and the  staff that will be primarily responsible for overseeing our site: Nicholas Chirametli (Vice President) and Chris Carbis (Property Manager).

Read about Nicholas Chirametli by clicking here.

Read about Chris Carbis by clicking here.

On Thursday, October 18th,  Owners of suites are invited to participate in a "Meet and Greet" with the Emerald City Management Team & Staff.

Due to the limited number of people that the Party Room can accommodate, and to help us plan our event better, we kindly ask that you confirm your attendance to the event by Tuesday, October 9th, 2018, at 5:00 p.m.

Here are the details:

Date: Thursday, October 18th, 2018.

Time: 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Location: 5th floor party room.

Invitation open to: Owners of suites at Emerald City One.

Refreshments will be provided.

Confirm your attendance by clicking here to email Property Management.

In your email, please tell us your (1) full name, (2) suite number, and

(3) the names of any other suite Owners who will be joining you.

This casual event is not only a great opportunity to meet City Sites' staff and to chat with our Board and Staff, but also a chance to informally discuss any pre-AGM (Annual General Meeting) concerns that you may have. This year, our AGM is scheduled a bit later than what we'd normally aim for due to some minor issues beyond our control (more information to follow), but of course, we'd still like to meet with Owners who would like to pop by and talk about any concerns that they may have!

All the best,
