Board's Pledge for a Respectful Requisition Meeting
Updated: Aug 12, 2020
As you are aware, a virtual Requisition Meeting is scheduled for August 28, 2020.
The Board has been working diligently to provide everyone with materials relevant to the meeting’s matters, but we understand that there is a lot of information to consider and review. As always, we are available to answer any and all questions, as is Property Management.
We would like to point out that, ultimately, we are all neighbours. We all share one building, and are part of the same community. We understand that dialogue is important, and are more than willing to productively participate. Above all, we’d like to ensure that matters remain civilized and neighbourly, which is what our Emerald City One community deserves.
Furthermore, we’d like to pledge our commitment to a respectful debate with reliable information.
Your Board of Directors promises that we will adhere to the below rules:
We will be kind and respectful of the other side.
We will cooperate with the other side as much as possible.
There will be no personal attacks or defamation of character.
We will remain open-minded and fairly consider the argument of the other side.
If we agree with points, we will identify our agreement.
If we disagree with points, we will explain why (using appropriate materials when relevant).
All materials provided will be fact-checked and provide clear references for sources used, so Owners can follow up to verify the information for themselves.
We are outlining the regulations that both sides must follow:
Both sides are permitted to participate in door-to-door campaigning (wearing masks for COVID-19 safety).
Neither side is permitted to loiter in the common elements (due to COVID-19 safety and liability).
No posting of requisition materials in the common elements.
Furthermore, we are open to the following, should the other side choose to take us up on their offer:
We will create a space where we will openly share the other side’s materials on our internal Owner’s website "One Club", so that Owners may consider both sides of the debate.
All materials shared must adhere to the rules above.
All Directors have committed to this pledge: Andreea Birloncea (President), Kevin Winson (Treasurer), and Ryan Moxam (Secretary).
We are openly asking for the other side’s commitment to the same rules, so this debate may be a productive use of everyone’s time, and respectful of each other and our fellow neighbours. Should the other side choose to participate, we will notify all Owners by updating the pledge.
The following requisition participants have committed to this pledge: NONE.
If you’d like to participate in the pledge, please email us so we can update:
Monday, August 10, 2020: no other participants yet.
Tuesday, August 11, 2020: no other participants yet. (Edit #1)
Wednesday, August 12, 2020: no other participants yet. (Edit #2)
To our One Community: stay healthy and safe, and don’t hesitate to reach out or participate in our dialogue section on the One Club!
All the best,
The Board of Directors of
Emerald City One - TSCC 2368
