Security Service Modifications during COVID-19

The Corporation has an obligation to keep its staff safe, and must take precautions to limit their exposure during this time. By limiting access to the staff, it also helps Residents avoid high-traffic areas and unnecessary social interaction, which is also helpful to Residents and therefore, helps us all in preventing the further spread of COVID-19.
During this time, health professionals have stated that those who can work from home should work from home; unfortunately, our staff does not have that luxury as they must maintain the building for the safety and security of all our Residents. As such, it is up to us to protect them and each other.
We have taken the following measures to limit the risk of anyone contracting/spreading COVID-19, in regards to our Security Staff and Services:
The Security staff will remain on-site 24-hours per day and 7-days per week, as required to deal with the security concerns and access control of our building. However, please be mindful of the following changes in services available until the COVID-19 concern is over, which are implemented with the prioritization of limiting contact, maintaining social distancing, and ensuring that we are doing everything possible to protect our Security staff:
As of Monday, March 16, 2020, Security will no longer be able to accept and store packages on the behalf of Residents.
Security will allow deliveries to go straight to suites, where Residents will be able to accept packages directly. Should you not be able to accept vital packages directly due to a valid health reason, please contact Property Management, who will do their best to figure out a way to accomodate you. Please note that any packages that are currently stored by Security will be available for pick-up; we ask that you claim your packages as soon as possible.

During this time, we are asking all Residents to please be mindful of the packages you order, and limit deliveries to immediate essentials. It is our collective goal to limit everyone’s exposure to COVID-19, as people’s health and safety is our top concern.
As of Monday, March 16, 2020, Security will no longer be offering parking permits at the Concierge Desk; however, contact-free parking permits will be available online.
We have made it easy to receive a contact-free Parking Permit Form by constructing an online document that you can fill out.
The Parking Permit Form is available via the following link: https://www.emeraldcityone.com/parkingpermits. For future uses, the Parking Permit Form can be found directly by visiting the building website at www.EmeraldCityOne.com, hovering over “Forms”, and selecting “Parking Permits”.
Please ensure that the form is filled out prior to midnight on the evening that you require it. If you fill it out past midnight, please give Security a call immediately after filling out the form, so they can bring their immediate attention to it. Once Security receives your form and inputs your vehicle on the Parking Permit List, they will send you a confirmation email. There is no need to place any forms on your car’s dash; Security will ensure your registered vehicle isn’t ticketed.
If you need to contact Security, we require that you use either phoning or emailing for items that are not urgent in order to limit contact and prevent the risk of spreading COVID-19. Please bear in mind that Security does not have the luxury of limiting their exposure by working from home, so we must all be respectful of their health and help limit their social interactions in order to protect their health and that of their family’s.
