UPDATE: Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Updated: Aug 3, 2020
It was my intention to get this post out next week, after closing the poll as to whether we should postpone the AGM; however, the results and the current climate of concern are both abundantly clear.
Currently, the Board received 88 responses to our poll, with the results as follows:
62.5% would like to see the AGM postponed until the COVID-19 concern is over,
15.9% don’t plan to attend but will send a proxy,
14.8% would like us to keep the AGM as scheduled, and
6.8% were neutral.
The poll was meant to be open until Tuesday, March 17, 2020, with results published on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Due to the urgency and seriousness of the situation, the Board discussed the results at our Board Meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, and came to the decision that we feel best protects everyone. We will be publishing the report with the results of the poll on the blog on Monday, March 16, 2020, and we will also send everyone a reminder email once it is published.
We take the feedback of our Residents very seriously, and in light of not only the 62.5% of people who voted to postpone the AGM, but also the serious recommendations from many experts to avoid public gatherings and to practice social distancing, we must announce that the BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS VOTED TO POSTPONE THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
We are currently looking into other methods of hosting, such as online via a web-based platform, as we do not know how long this pandemic will last. Of course, in the meantime, Property Management is available to answer any questions you may have. Please choose email or phone when communicating with Property Management at this time, as we are obligated to limit the exposure to staff (see section “3.0 Service Modifications” for more information).
