Property Management would like to advise all Residents that on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Corporation will be shutting off the Hot & Cold water in the building in order to complete the installation of the Judo Filter on the main domestic water line.
PLEASE ENSURE ALL TAPS ARE CLOSED DURING THIS TIME TO PREVENT FLOODING.
The installation of the Judo Filter is important as it helps the building (both Residents and our equipment) in several ways. But first, you may be asking...
What is a "Judo Filter"?
According to Michael Mosca, the President of "Intact Mechanical", the plumbing company that we chose to complete the installation, a "Judo Filter" is "a product [that] will remove all sediment that enters the city water line. This will help prevent the building's mechanical equipment and piping from early damage and corrosion. The filter chosen for this building is a three-filter system [which removes] all debris and sediment from the water system".
What does a "Judo Filter" do?
A "Judo Filter" helps take stop the sediments from the city's water lines from entering our building's plumbing. The "city water main [lines] that serve your building is full of sediment and debris due to construction and new installations. The sediment works it way through the city water piping and ends up in your water distribution system" (M. Mosca).
The Board anticipates that this sediment will no longer clog up the Corporations' expensive plumbing and mechanical equipment, and Residents should also see less sediment getting caught in their faucets' aerators. This means that the expense of repairing and replacing equipment will go down, and our building should function more optimally!
