Reminder: Proper Recycling Procedures

June 6, 2019

 Dear Residents,

We'd like to remind everyone of the proper recycling procedures at Emerald City One. Below, you will find a (1) downloadable pamphlet and (2) a summary outlining the recycling procedures. The pamphlet was delivered door-to-door to all on-site Residents last year on March 28, 2018.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Management Office if you require a printed copy of the pamphlet, or have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Best Regards,

Edward Chin.

Administrator at Emerald City One - TSCC 2368,

City Sites Property Management.

What changes will occur?

The large 95-gallon bins from the parking levels to a recycling room that is in the moving room on the GR level.  We will also be placing 10-gallon recycling bins in each garbage chute room on every floor. Lastly, the Concierge Team will provide the moving elevator upon request in order to assist proper disposal of larger boxes.

Why are these changes happening?

Following our full building inspection by the Toronto Fire Department on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, it was noted that our recycling bins located on the parking level were not in line with the current fire code.

The New Recycling Procedures:

• Small recycling items such as cans, bottles, newspaper etc. must be placed in a standard small garbage bag and thrown down the garbage chute.

• Medium flattened cardboard boxes should be deposited in the 10-gallon bins located in the garbage chute rooms.

• Large quantities of recyclables shall not be thrown down the garbage chute or left in the garbage chute rooms and shall instead be cut down and securely bound together.

When you need to dispose of a large amount of over-sized recycling, you must call Concierge (647-926- 7070). They will meet you on your floor with the moving elevator and escort you to the GR-level where the 95-gallon bins are located.

Please Note: If there is any garbage or recycling left in the garbage chute rooms and it is discovered what suite it belongs to, there will be a minimum $75+HST cleaning fee charged accordingly.

*Elevators will be available if not booked by another resident for moves/deliveries. Elevators are generally only available during the following times: 7am to 3pm, 7pm to 11pm.*
